Absolutely love the food here! I haven't sat in for a meal but takeaways are always amazing.
The food is cooked to perfection, meats always tender and the sauces are natural so no nasty colour dyes through it that turn your fingers red.
I would definitely recommend chicken tikka chasni, a personal favourite of mine. -

Fourth official Pakora Passport outing (I'm not counting balti club!!).
For a change, we headed out to Cambuslang for a change of scenery. On first impressions, quite a nice wee place tucked away at the end of a row of shops and restaurants near the station.
Friendly welcome by the young chap waiting on us. Menu options were pretty expansive on pakoras/starters alone. One thing we all did find, was that the menu was slightly confusing and you were doing a lot of turning over and seeing what was where.
Fi and I opted for a la carte & took the mixed pakora option (Chicken, Mushroom, Veg and Potato). Chicken Dopiaza and Staff Curry - which was a beautifully simple chicken curry.
Pakoras took nearly 40 minutes to come out for a table of 8, which was quite a while. Ravenous by the time they arrived! Whilst quite tasty and well cooked, the thing that always lets things down... chilli!! Fish was spot on (stole Elizabeths!) but the veg and chicken were well nippy.. seriously nippy in fact.
Main courses thankfully, came out pretty quick and they were beautifully presented and I have to say, rather tasty too. The Dopiaza was nippy again, but the staff curry was brilliant. Everyone really enjoyed their outing and before we knew it, it was already 10pm!
I would never have thought to head out to Cambuslang for a curry, nor expect anything decent. That said, I think folk in Cambuslang have a wee gem on their doorstep in this place. No, it's not all fancy like the City restaurants, but what do you want... a great tasty meal for a reasonable price locally, or an average meal for a lot of money miles away? I know which one I want!
You Gotta Eat Here - For Sure!! :-D -

The Cinnamon Club is a bit of a surprise as it a really good Indian restaurant in main street Cambuslang. I would go as far as to say it is the best restaurant in the area by far.
You can both sit in and get take-aways and the food is really good.
its quite traditional in a lot of respects, but then you also get things like Scallop Pakora thrown in which is not the norm.
For Indian take-aways this place beats every other option in the local area easily and for sitting in there is a good atmosphere to the place which means for 2 hours you don't feel like you in the middle of Cambuslang.
Good beer, nice inside, attentive service and excellent food - If you in the area, give it a try. -

I'd never knowingly been to Cambuslang before so that was an adventure in itself - until my iPhone decided we needed to go for a drive around the backstreets even though Cinnamon is on the main road. So apologies for my fellow Pakora Passporters for being late, I did give Siri a serious scalding about that!
Cinnamon is a pleasant enough restaurant without any real wow-factor - clean, well presented tables and a comfortable space. Also I suggest that they fix the lock on the ladies toilet as it seemed unreliable at best!
Having a quick look over the menu I was initially confused by the pre theatre option but thankfully I had Martin to set me right - it is simply a choice of starter and main, then you pick your side. (I initially read it as getting all the starters listed which really made me excited). At the bargain price of £9.95 I probably should have been able to work that out on my own.
I went for the scallop pakora and a chicken korma for my main, with a coriander and mint naan. I was really impressed with the options available for the pre theatre, it was pretty much choose whatever you want. I think it was only the scallops that attracted a supplement but for an extra £3 they were worth it. These are almost on-par with the best pakora I've had so far, a really light and fresh batter with chopped pieces of scallop inside mixed with what I think was potato. Absolutely delicious and a nice change from the usual chicken and vegetable options.
I also liked my main but to be honest, I wasn't feeling the best that day and was totally full from the pakora already, which was a shame. What I ate I thought was nice although maybe slightly too coconutty for me (and I love coconut), but I was trying to avoid dishes with cream in them. The naan was really generous and I liked the unusual herb flavour combination.
Staff were super friendly and attentive. The only downside was that the food took quite a while to arrive - I can't remember exactly how long but there was that definite moment of realising you've been waiting some time. Would I travel back to Cambuslang just to go here? No, probably not. But it is a real gem and has delicious scallop pakora so I'd visit if I was in the area. -
